The decision to receive home or hospice care is a difficult one. Unfortunately, most make such a decision in a desperate time. We don’t usually think about a home or hospice care option until after a cumbersome surgery, an eye-opening visit with our parents, or some other strenuous circumstance. It’s important to remember no matter the situation or recommendation your home care or hospice provider is YOUR choice.

Here are a few things to think about if you’re ever in the position to choose a home care or hospice provider:

Who should I talk to about home care?

One thing to think about before you have surgery is your ability to take care of yourself after the surgery. Your doctor will have a recommendation on how much care you will need and you should follow their recommendation. Have a conversation with your doctor about your options for home care or hospice, and remember the final choice is yours. Ask your doctor what a home care / hospice provider should supply. Listen to your doctor and remember PrimRose is happy to answer any questions before your surgery, or get you set up with care post surgery.

What should elderly care look like?

The care for your parents should be better than it would be if their own family was taking care of them. You’ll want to be sure home care or hospice admits you quickly, caters to your needs, and communicates frequently with your physician. You will be impressed at how quickly PrimRose Home Care & Hospice can determine what care you need and get you or your loved ones squared away with care. Although we have a professional opinion on what kind of care you or your loved one needs, we are always happy listen to your needs and cater our service to what you need. PrimRose also has great relations with most physicians and will be sure to communicate frequently with you and your physician.
